Hi, I’m Katie — the founder and travel advisor behind Compass & Coast Vacations, LLC.

My love for travel began long before I ever considered turning it into a profession. Growing up, my parents took our family on adventures across the United States—road trips filled with new places, changing landscapes, and the excitement of discovering what was around the next corner.

Those early experiences shaped the way I see travel today. It’s about so much more than the destination—it’s about the memories you create, the moments you share, and the way time away brings people closer together.

Over the years, that early love of travel has grown into both a personal passion and a professional calling. As an Air Force veteran, current military spouse, and mom of three adventure-loving boys, travel has become a central part of our family’s story.

Living overseas gave us an incredible opportunity, and we made it a point to embrace it fully, traveling as often as possible and exploring each region we called home. From our years abroad in Germany, Italy, Japan, and now South Korea, we didn’t just live internationally—we experienced it.

Along the way, we’ve explored more than 70 countries and destinations around the world. Some of my greatest joy has come from traveling with my family.  Watching our boys experience new cultures, taste new foods, and see the world with curiosity and excitement.

Those experiences have shaped not only my love for travel, but also how I design it for others. 

Through both personal travel and years of firsthand experience, I’ve developed a deep appreciation for thoughtful planning, meaningful experiences, and the details that elevate a trip from simply enjoyable to truly unforgettable.
